Anti-wrinkle injections help to relax key muscles, thereby smoothing the facial lines which give the impression of age. The key areas targeted through injectables are frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines. On average the results last between 3 and 4 months.

Dermal fillers essentially consist of hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin, but we produce less and less of it as we age. It’s what gives skin bounce and volume, and by re-introducing it to regions that look saggy, gaunt or tired, we can create a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance. The key areas targeted through dermal fillers are the lips, the lines around the lips and the naso-labial folds (lines from your nose to the outside corners of your mouth). The treatment results are immediately visible and they last between 6 and 12 months.

A needle or cannula is used to introduce the filler into the subcutaneous tissue, and it stays where it is places. While there, is will stimulate the collagen and create a “lifting” effect. Over the course of several months the filler will dissolve and the effect will slowly be reduced.

Your brain sends signals to all the muscles in the body, telling them when and how to move. In the case of your face, it’s these movements that can cause wrinkles to form over time. Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the signals from the brain so that the muscles are weakened, meaning that existing wrinkles soften and even disappear, and new ones are kept from forming. The results take about a week to appear and will last on average for 3-6 months.

Unfortunately, due to strict medical guidelines we cannot mention the specific brand names of the fillers and injectables we offer. We will, however, be happy to have an in depth discussion about your options when you get into contact.

Much of the time dermal fillers are used for lip augmentation, enhancing naturally thin lips or lips that have shrunken over time. The other common uses for dermal fillers are to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fill in regions that have lost volume over time, like the cheeks. Unlike anti-wrinkle injections which target the underlying muscle, dermal fillers work by “filling out” the wrinkles and revolumising the area. The use of dermal fillers to address wrinkles can also help to keep the wrinkles from deepening.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to treat wrinkles and lines caused by repeated muscle movement, such as smile lines and forehead creases. It’s effective for “expression lines”, including frown and surprise lines on the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes, and lines on the throat.

This undesirable look occurs when someone has had too large a dosage. A well-trained and skilled injector like Dr Tinney knows how to produce natural-looking results using the correct amount of muscle relaxant.
